Mount Ibuki (Ibukiyama) is a 4,518 feet high mountain, on the border of Shiga-pref and Gifu-pref. in Japan. It is one of the 100 famous mountains in Japan. It had been also famous for rich kinds of plants and wildflowers.
The plum blossom in March, the Japanese had come to know in the spring. Ume blossoms are often mentioned in Japanese poetry as a symbol of spring. When used in haiku or tanka, they are a kigo or season word for early spring.
